We are so excited to see these cooler temperatures rolling in at such an early date. Honestly, who can remember the last time any of us were able to kick off dryland training in September??! Shelby, Tundra, and Revvy have been bikejoring multiple times already with Aubrey, who has been enjoying the crazy rides almost as much as the huskies.
This year we hope to add many new things to the kennel. First up we are purchasing our first dryland rig from a former musher, Joe Powell. We will make great use of his Risdon Rig during this training season and those to come. Also, we are looking to adopt two additional male fur kids to run with our team. These pups will hopefully be able to run in our wheel positions and give Tundra a break from being our only wheel dog. Meanwhile Tundra will move up to run as point dog and will most likely run with Shelby. Revvy, with any luck, will eventually be running as a solo lead as her training progresses.
With the Lake Farmpark Dryland race coming up, we are equally excited to continue meeting other mushers and their dogs. The dogs and I will be training harder than ever and will be out doing demos at the end of the race for the educational talks. Hope to see everyone there and remember to go out and have some fun with those fur kids this fall!
